Welcome to my blog! This is a place of information and hope for fellow Canadians who are suffering from Lyme disease. I want to share with you the knowledge I have gained during my fight with this debilitating, frightening, and misunderstood illness. I hope you will be blessed.

Hello again, and welcome to a new year!

Well hello everyone!  Happy New Year!  I thought it was time for a new blog post; it's been a while.

I certainly don't post as much as I used to when I started this blog in 2012.  I was so on fire then, wanting to shout to the world everything I knew about this horrific illness.  I wanted to convince everyone of the TRUTH, and make known the inexcusable lack of knowledge in the medical community.  I wanted to change the system and change everyone's minds!

Well, I doubt I've achieved much of those things through my humble little blog here, but I do know that I have been able to come alongside individuals and provide guidance, reassurance, and hope.  I know I needed that so very much when I was terribly sick with Lyme in 2011 without any medical explanation of what was wrong with me.

I just want all of you Lyme sufferers to know that you are not alone in this.  So many people in Canada, the U.S., Australia, and Europe are travelling on this same journey, and it really is wonderful, in this age of technology, that we can connect and support one another through the rough times.  I am so honoured to be able to help you through this, via the stories and information on my blog.

I am often reminded of The Starfish Story that I heard about 25 years ago, but which has always stuck with me.  I'll post it below.

Thank you for visiting.  And many blessings in 2016!

The Starfish Story

While walking along a beach, an elderly gentleman saw someone in the distance leaning down, picking something up and throwing it into the ocean.

As he got closer, he noticed that the figure was that of a young man, picking up starfish one by one and tossing each one gently back into the water.

He came closer still and called out, “Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing?”

The young man paused, looked up, and replied, “Throwing starfish into the ocean.”

The old man smiled, and said, “I must ask, then, why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?”

To this, the young man replied, “The sun is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them in, they’ll die.”

Upon hearing this, the elderly observer commented, “But, young man, do you not realise that there are miles and miles of beach and there are starfish all along every mile? You can’t possibly make a difference!”

The young man listened politely. Then he bent down, picked up another starfish, threw it into the back into the ocean past the breaking waves and said, “It made a difference for that one.”
